CWW is fast approaching!! We’ll be working on coming up with our Advisory cheers to kick off the awesome trip but before we do that there are a few things we need to take care of.
1. Please make sure you’ve turned in your permission slip
2. Make sure you’ve spoken to your parents about CWW and the trip
3. Finally, check out the packing list below so you know what you’ll need to bring!
This month we’re working on becoming more Self-Directed, Responsible students, which means that we first need to figure out what things are stopping us from achieving this. We’ve spoken about procrastination and setting better goals. Check out this comic from http://www.educatorstechnology.com/2013/09/a-nice-comic-featuring-12-types-of.html about the different types of procrastinating!
We’ve spent a lot of time this week talking about goals we’re setting for ourselves for the semester. As we head off for the weekend, I leave you guys with a quote to think about from Dr. Seuss! Happy Weekend to my awesome Chillin Villains!!
Just a reminder that tomorrow is Back to School Night! A chance for parents to mingle, meet teachers, and get to know what their children are learning in each of their classes. Here’s the schedule for those who would like to plan accordingly.
Something to think about as we head off the weekend…
It’s Official! We’ve voted on our name and it’s out…
VILLANUEVA’S CHILLIN’ VILLAINS!
We’ve also come up with a Social Contract that our Advisory will be following and working on throughout the year!
Thank you to those who have already sent in donations for the victims of Typhoon Maring that affected many of our ISM community last week. If you would like to continue bringing in donations, please bring them to the FAT Lobby 🙂
Simple really! It’s structured so that we have time to get to know each other, share our highlights of the day, and still have time to disseminate important information! 🙂
Every advisory is a bit different but still follows the same format below:
Ours will include sharing our daily highs and lows (and getting feedback from each other) and you guys will be in charge of coming up with some of the games/activities every once in a while in rotation!
We meet for 30 minutes every Monday (2:35-3:00pm) and Wednesdays (right after lunch) in Rm 1124.
Hey everyone! I’m Ms. Villanueva, but everyone calls me “Ms. V!” Welcome to our advisory page. I’m really excited to have all of you in our advisory group and to get to know each and every one of you throughout the school year! It’s going to be a year of fun, excitement, advisory circles (what’s that?!), and down time with each other as we each discover our own path to becoming awesome!
Check back here from time to time as I’ll be posting all updates, important information, cool videos, and fun stuff just for us! For now, check this one out…
Looking forward to meeting you all at our first Advisory on Monday!
