I choose this topic because I use electronic devices at home and school. Before, I heard that the blue light will affects our eyes so I wanted to know how will it affects us. It will affects our eyes, sleeping, mental. For example, blue light affects our eyes because it has the property that it is easy to scattered. It causes flicker. By that, the brain has a hard time to focus on. I have a connection to this because my eyes got bad by the blue light. It is important because if we don’t stop this, then eye sight gets bad.
I learnt that the blue light is a visible radiation. It expand my learning by knowing about blue light more. My thinking about the blue light is it dangerous. My interesting about the blue light is that is there any more ways to avoid this except blue light cut film and blue light cut grasses. Some problems of this issue are it affects people’s eyes and sleeping.
I choose this issue because this issue heavily affects my family. Heart disease runs in my family, therefore I should know about this. Heart disease can easily and eventually come to me in the near future. By researching about this I might as well help myself right now. I knew that heart disease was caused when one of your arteries is clogged. Later on I made connections to what we had learned in class and what my dad went through. In the previous learning we learned what could happen to a patient of heart disease. I vaguely remember my dad going through similar stages like those. For example, once when my dad woke up he was in shock and he was sweating. This was because his chest felt very heavy. This issue is relevant to me because this is something my mom and dad have told me to be aware of my whole life. This is important to me because this can happen to me anyday, anytime. I have to be aware and prepared. This affects teenagers because teenagers tend to eat bad which causes their arteries to get some what clogged. Most teenagers aren’t as aware as adults, therefore they could much easily get this.
I’ve learned ways to prevent heart disease. This has expanded my learning because now I actually now how to prevent getting harmful diseases.For example I’ve learned that smoking can easily cause heart disease;therefore now I know to be very careful if I ever come across a cigarette/cigar. I think this issue is very important and that everyone should be aware of this. When I learned that some amounts of food, such as fast food, had very high amounts of cholesterol and sugar I was very surprised. I used to eat fast food thinking this was good and that it wouldn’t do anything bad to my body. Now I know wouldn’t willing eat fast food. I don’t think my thinking has changed in a major way. I have always thought of heart disease as a major topic and should be very carefully dealt with. Moving on, when you hear the phrase “Heart Disease” you think that there is something wrong with your heart and that your heart needs to be fixed. Well some people don’t understand that it’s not something only something wrong with your heart, but it’s something wrong with the way your heart gets blood. In wellness we learned about this. This makes me think that in wellness we would learn things that are even more important than this. This makes me think that wellness could potentially be the most important subject.
Solutions to Avoid Heart Disease
- Know your blood pressure and keep it under control.
- Exercise regularly.
- Don’t smoke.
- Get tested for diabetes and if you have it, keep it under control.
- Know your cholesterol and triglyceride levels and keep them under control.
- Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
The health issue I would like to present today is negative effects of social media.This issue is important because Many people use social media a lot and might not know the negative effects.I picked this issue because I think it is important for people to know the negative effects of something they use often.
Some negative effects of social media are A false sense of connection. According to Cornell University’s Steven Strogatz, social media sites can make it more difficult for us to distinguish between the meaningful relationships we have in the real world. Cyber-Bullying Social medias can easily be used to harras, threaten, or intimidate someone. There have also been some cases of people driven to suicide by cyberbullying. Decreased productivity Social media can be used to improve productivity but most of the time it is distracting and we get distracted instead of doing what we need to do. Less privacy. Social networks encourage us to be more public about our lives and post more. Also, the information that you post is visible to facebook employees and will remain posted forever. Most sites do let you control who sees your post these features are often forgotten.
