I chose this issue because this is one of the reasons by grandfather and my great grandmother passed away. This is relevant to me because 6 in 100,000 teens can suffer stroke. There are two types of main strokes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. This can effect teens by causing sickness, brain damage and possibly death. You can prevent stroke by drinking water, exercising, or many more. I learned that stroke can harm you in many ways, and you can find possibilities to prevent it. It is more likely to effect older people, and not teens, but it is possible. This has changed my thinking because I didn’t think stroke could effect teens, but now I know it can. There for I will try hard to prevent it especially in the future. This has changed my thinking about wellness because all the other diseases hasn’t happened to me or my family, but stroke has. Stroke has many of the same ways to prevent it that are the same ways to prevent other diseases. There for they are relevant to each other. Stroke is very common for elders, but not for adults.
I chose this topic because a lot of parents are divorced and are leaving their child or children broken and torn. I am one of those kids, along with my brother. We are stressed from our parents fighting and homework and tests piling up at school.
Divorce is painful. It is painful for parents, for kids, and for close friends and family. We all respond to pain differently depending on who we are and our stage of life. Teenagers are not immune from the effects of divorce.
Every teenager and every family is unique. So too the reasons and dynamics of every divorce is different. Therefore it is very hard to predict or prescribe how particular teens will respond to their parents divorcing.
However there are significantly increased risk factors for teens whose parents get divorced. When compared with teenagers who do not come from divorced families, research has found teens from divorced families:
are more aggressive
are more anxious
have higher school drop out rates
are more sexually active at an earlier age
have higher rates of delinquency
have higher rates of drug and alcohol addiction
These findings do not say that all teens from divorced families will have these issues. Such research merely suggests that teens who come from divorced families are at increased risk. The increased risk factors highlight the nature of possible problems teens face when their parents divorce.
This post will address some of the more significant effects divorce has on teenagers.
The Adolescent Process is Interrupted
Adolescence involves teens gaining a sense of autonomy, an identity independent of their parents. This process requires teens to separate from their parents. When divorce happens teens may perceive their parents have separated from them.
Despite teenagers trying to separate from parents during adolescence, they still require the relational safety that comes from secure and healthy relationship with their parents. Teens develop by establishing autonomy at their own pace. It is often 3 steps forward 2 steps back type progress.
During divorce parents can become very self absorbed or distracted, leading to them giving less attention to their kids. This results in teens becoming very insecure about the nature or their relationship with their parents and feeling isolated or anxious.
According to an annual survey made in the US among a representative group of video game users regarding their age. In 2015, 30 percent of the responding players were 18 to 35 years old. This is followed by users over the age of 50 (27%), then the people under the age of 18 (26%) and the age bracket with the least number of users are from ages between 36 and 49 (17%).
Playing video games is fun but playing video games must be secondary to other activities that each person must be doing so as to develop a stable social and physical well being.
I chose this topic because I once found personalities on blood types through social media, and I actually thought it would be really interesting if I have a research on Blood Types. I also had a connection while researching about this topic, and that is blood donations. One day, I wanted to donate my blood through donating campaign, but I couldn’t do it because I am blood type A, and that particular person couldn’t get my blood. So, I was really wondering the relationship between blood types. This research did actually expend my learning, because once I’ve started my research on this topic, if I found an information about one thing, than I was wondering about the other things. For example, if I found out the definition of a blood type, I was wondering what is blood made out of. This is important because knowing your blood types are really helpful in your life. This can affect teenagers because you learn about cells, and there are 4 main cells in your blood, and again, knowing your blood types, and learning about blood is very helpful.
I learned a lot from this topic, for example, I learned that blood type O can donate its blood to every types of blood, though, it can only get its blood from type O. To summarize, blood types are a classification of blood, also called as, “Blood Groups.” Additionally, blood is really important because it’s a red liquid that circulates your body. My thought on this topic has changed a lot because I thought there is no way that blood types are useful, but in reality, blood types are very important because you can donate your blood. Healthbuzz influenced my thought on wellness, because I thought wellness was just boring, and it’s just about our health. Though, when I was researching about this topic, I could clearly see that wellness is really helpful because it makes you to do some healthy choices, the best way to live your life.
