Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.
I chose this topic because not everyone is lucky to have clean water and food. My parents in their younger years, didn’t have enough money for clean water or food, which made me think of the importance of this issue. It made me realize that we must help prevent others that are not as fortunate as us by giving an overview on this issue. It is an imperative that each one of us have a clue on the effects and possible damages it may cause not only to ourselves, but also to our family and to the whole community. Teenagers nowadays, tend to be more careless on the things they eat or drink, without thinking that it could slowly kill them.
While looking for things regarding this issue, I learned that, in order to prevent these kind of diseases, WE must help eah other maintain clean surroundings and keep our foods and drinks clean. Besides, doing so will not only prevent those kind of disease but also help save our dearest planet. It encourages me to be more health-concious while I’m still young and pass this knowledge I learned in the future.
