What is Lucid Dreaming?
Lucid Dreaming is a state of sleep where you’re dreaming, but you’re still conscious. It gives you the ability to actively control your dreams. All of your senses can be used!
How do you Lucid Dream?
- Throughout your day (awake) keep checking your hands, because in dreams they morph. Getting used to this will help you know if you’re dreaming, and if you know you’re dreaming you can take control of you dream.
- Tell yourself “I will remember my dream tonight, and I will dream about -blank-“ make your brain listen
- Constantly ask yourself if you’re dreaming throughout your day, and keep checking if you’re asleep by pinching yourself, and the hand trick.
- Write in a dream journal to help you remember your dream
First you just remember your dream, and mildy control them (like telling yourself you’re gonna dream about something before you sleep.)
This is not going to happen easily, so you have to be committed.
Types of Lucid Dreams
In most cases when you’re lucid dreaming you have almost complete control of what situations you put yourself in, but sometimes that’s not the case. Sometimes parts of your unconscious mind can cause you to have nightmares.
This is where you falsely wake up during a dream, and you know it, but you’re unable to get you conscious mind to wake up. You try to control the situation but can’t, usually until you see something weird that causes your brain to snap.
Why did I pick this topic?
I’ve always been very interested in the concept of Lucid Dreaming. It fascinates me that we have the ability to do whatever we want while we’re asleep.
