My health buzz is on nightmares.
What are nightmares? Nightmares also known as dream anxiety disorder, are dreams that you get during your sleep, that can sometimes be scary or upsetting. These nightmares are caused by REM which stands for rapid eye movement. REM is when your eyes moves really fast on your sleep, and while this happens scary dreams could occur.
Who gets nightmares the most? Out of children and adults children do. This is because children have big imaginations, and they usually have nightmares of what they are afraid of. Another reason for this is because during children’s “growing years” or adolescence they tend to grow fears of things they don’t understand.
What causes nightmares? There are many things that nightmares are caused by but for children some things are:
-Fear of new school.
-Pre-existing illness or fever.
-Conflicts between parents.
For adults some things that nightmares are caused by are:
-Use of drugs may also be one of the causes of nightmares.
-Loss of loved one such as parent, spouse, or child.
In conclusion, this is important for us because we all get nightmares sometimes and we should know what causes them. As an international school, there could be many things going on in people’s lives that could be causing nightmares. I chose this because I myself get a lot of nightmares so I wanted to find out what causes them and how I could stop them if it was possible.
How has my thinking changed? I used to think nightmares were just things you get when you sleep, but now I know deeper about nightmares now that I have researched about it.Blog post
